Bridge House
Houston, Texas

The Bridge House is a two-acre private residence located in the Memorial neighborhood just west of downtown Houston. Taken over by honeysuckle vines, the namesake wood bridge was left on site, acting as a historical relic. A new, contemporary bridge leads guest over a naturally planted ravine to the main entry. The site topography is unique for the area, and is one of the property’s best features. The hardscape and planting adjacent to the building play off the strong, linear lines of the architecture. The remaining site is left as an oak and pine forest with native understory planting. The only lawn on the project is a perfectly level play lawn that extends into the naturally planted area.
