Christie Allen graduated with her Masters in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida in May 2015 with an ASLA Award of Honor. A Florida native, Christie practiced landscape architecture in Orlando and Bozeman, MT, before joining Studio Outside in September 2016.
Christie has contributed to a diverse collection of projects located across the country, including in Texas, Florida, Montana, Wyoming, California, Michigan, Georgia, and North Carolina.
While at UF, her research interests aligned with coastal flux and its human management, environmental cartography, and the uniquely constructed and manipulated landscapes and infrastructures of South and Central Florida. She wrote her thesis on resilience planning through recentralization as an alternative to retreat in the coastal zones of Florida.
As a designer in the Environmental Education & Parks studio, Christie works to create in every project a framework from which to understand our landscape. She believes that artful restraint in design magnifies experience of and connection to our natural and built environments.
