LAUREN WARDWELL

Project Leader

Lauren Wardwell joined Studio Outside after earning her MLA at The University of Texas at Arlington. A fifth-generation Texan, she was raised in Houston, where she spent her childhood swimming in lakes and sitting in traffic.

While studying at UTA, she explored the ways in which the built environment can improve health outcomes for minority communities. Her thesis focused on designing a green infrastructure overlay for a freedmen’s town in south Dallas, contributing to a design playbook that addresses inequality in the built environment throughout the DFW metroplex. An Olmstead Scholar, she strongly believes in the power of landscape architecture to improve the lives of all people. With service to others as a guiding ethos, she served as SASLA president while at UTA. Outside the office, she is likely playing with her pets, running, or spending time with family. Always creating, her hobbies consist of video editing, photography, and floral design.
