Landscape Designer

Xilin Wang joined Studio Outside in February of 2024 as a landscape designer. Growing up, Xilin loved to immerse himself in nature and has developed a strong interest in creating welcoming spaces that foster joy and well-being. He has shifted from civil engineering to landscape architecture to uncover places' social and ecological potentials.

Xilin graduated from the University of Virginia with a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture and has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Northwest A&F University in China. His work received the Student Merit Award from the Virginia Chapter of the ASLA. Before joining Studio Outside, he worked as a landscape design intern at EDSA.

In his free time, Xilin enjoys bouldering, swimming, archery, reading, meditation, and going outdoors to exercise and recharge.
