The garden offers a vibrant participatory experience, this year-round destination will draw a diverse audience and present a variety of programming and activities. The Children’s Garden captures and sparks a visitor’s imagination, curiosity, and sense of wonder while allowing for freedom of exploration and play. Focusing on the beauty, science, and stories associated with plants, it will offer different levels of mentally and physically challenging -yet safe- experiences and encourages physical activity.
The Garden is a cohesive whole composed of “rooms” with excitingly distinct themes and treatments. The choreographs sequences of light and shade, openness and enclosure, color and greenery, among other qualities. Five major areas comprise the overall garden following a north-south gradient moving from fantastical expressions of the native Cross Timbers landscape to abstractions of the cultural landscape. A collaboration with 3 Fromme Design.
