Water Conservation Garden at Red Butte Salt Lake City, Utah
The Water Conservation Garden plan at Red Butte Garden on the University of Utah campus calls for expanding the visitor experience onto a steep hillside and former quarry lying the breathtaking native mountain landscape celebrating conservation gardening in arid climates. Major goals included expanding educational programming spaces, adding visitor destinations, communicating a water and resource conservation message, sharing the beauty of the native Utah flora, and creating an ADA accessible route as an integral part of the garden experience.
The Conservation Garden, Native Plant Garden, and Rock Garden carefully consider aesthetic, programmatic, and circulation links to both existing and proposed areas, particularly the Red Butte Canyon and the existing Terrace Gardens. Studio Outside and 3 Fromme Design have joined together on a joint venture for the completion of this project.
