As a 2006 BLA graduate from Texas Tech University, Josh Emerson joined Studio Outside in March of 2011 after working for three years in North Carolina. His passion for environmentally conscious design and sustainable practices comes from a wide range of project experiences on the east coast, including parks, coastal greenways, and waterfront planning. Josh has a strong passion for the outdoors and strives to capture elements of natural systems within the design process and throughout construction detailing.

Josh was promoted to Project Leader in June of 2014 and has managed both design and construction on some of the top multi-family and urban living projects in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin while working with several significant clients throughout the region, including the Dallas Arboretum, Trammell Crow, Trinsic Realty, Cypress Equities, TDI, and Matthews Southwest. His leadership within the firm in creating and maintaining office construction document standards and his mentorship among the staff on technical detailing has allowed Josh to pursue areas of interest and expertise while growing both professionally and personally.
